26 Class / Blue Tiger
The Blue Tiger locomotive from Germany has landed!! After a long wait for both railway
fans and maybe KTMB engine drivers themself, the first batch of 5 was delivered on Oct 2
2003. Another 15 more will be delivered by year end. This 3300 horsepower locos are the
most powerful in KTMB's stable. It is built by Bombardier with contract from GE.
The picture above is an artist impression of Blue Tiger loco with the KTMB grey livery by
Kumaran. Ofcourse , this was even before Blue Tiger reached Malaysia.Below you will find
a real photo taken by Kumaran. It was taken at Kuang, most probably after the flag-off
ceremony on 21st October 2003. Click on the photos for desc. I dont have much technical
data but will post them here once i get it.
