I lived in Singapore, Ipoh, and Penang many years as a youth. During the insurgency my family took the train many times, but once the wheel came off the locomotive and sister broke her arm in a fall from the high bed, near K.L,at night. I have looked many years for a photo of the train of that period.. Black locomotive and the brown and tan passenger trolleys. Can anybody help me find a photo! Thanks! Alan.

It sure brings back memories of my train rides during my school days. I miss those old wooden train stations. Those days when train stations and halts were the focus point of the towns & village people. Good work.

i like to know much more about railyaw history in malaysia because i have a good memory with ktmb since i was in my college in taiping until now. every time i travel around malaysia i take a train. altough some people say that train make our journey take long time, but i feel comfort. im also interest to know more deeper about amoured wickhem trolley because my late grandfather work as a police man which ascort the train with the trolley to the kelantan in the insurgency period.

great site with lots of memories. Guess I was one of the lucky ones to ride in one of the class 20(my favourite with the steam locos) myself as my uncle was the driver then. Cheers. Admin reply: Wow, you are lucky indeed!
